I first met Kari on the bus travelling from South Queensferry (where we both lived) to Edinburgh (where we both worked) and during these journeys our friendship grew.....we went to slimming class together and often compared the calorific value of certain foodstuffs to decide which treat to indulge in...and I am pleased to say we got down to our target weight...I personally wish I was as slim as I was when I thought I was fat!!

When Kari and Gary were blessed with their son Ross she gave my husband Dave and I the honour of being his godparents - it was a sad time when Kari and Ross moved away and as that was in the days before mobiles/laptops/social media etc we lost touch when we all moved house.

Lucky for me the surname Dyke isn't too common so one day on facebook I did a wee search....didn't find Kari but was delighted to find Ross who passed on my details to his wonderful Mum so for the past few years Kari and I started up a flow of email conversations exchanging photos and stories..it was a joy to find out how happy and fulfilled she was with her life in Wiltshire.

Kari you were a fab friend....a wonderful Mum to Ross and I am proud to have known you.
